Fuerteventura, known as the quiet island, is a real oasis in the Atlantic. Fuerteventura is the oldest island in the Canary Islands dating back 20 million years to a volcanic eruption from the Canary hotspot.

Much of the interior of the island, with its large plains, lava-scapes and volcanic mountains, consists of protected areas which can be best be explored in a 4x4 vehicle or on a cross-country motorbike with an organised tour.
